Key technologies of the future - resource-conserving processes for energy conversion

The environment is precious and so are our energy sources. All the more important are therefore advanced power generation technologies for the economical use of these resources and reduction of CO2 emissions. As a recognised supplier of environment-friendly gasification technologies and gas treatment processes, our gas technologies division holds a good position in this field.

We have further expanded our product range in the field of gas technologies in line with market requirements. In addition to advanced gasification technologies (for example PRENFLO™, HTW) for coal, petroleum coke and oil, as well as gas treatment and dehydrogenation using the Uhde STAR process® it now also includes plants for the treatment and fractionation of natural gas and gas condensates (natural gas liquids, NGL, and natural gas fractionation, NF). Contracts, for example for a heavy oil gasification plant for the recovery of oil from Canadian oil sands or for the gasification of anthracite coal residues for WMPI in the USA, bear witness to the fact that our competence in this field is recognised as excellent. In order to meet the requirements of the Kyoto protocol, our gas technologies division is developing modern plant concepts for the chemical and power plant sectors in conjunction with international industrial and scientific partners. The object of our endeavours is to design and construct plants which either achieve a sustained reduction in greenhouse gas emissions or avoid them altogether.
